J57 has been making some huge noise in and out of NYC as of late. He has climbed from the bottom up at Fat Beats, NYC. Commuting for years from Long Island to launch himself into the hip-hop scene, he has now achieved Assistant Manager status at Fat Beats, manages his crew the Brown Bag All Stars and Sene, signed with Balanced Records out of Canada, formed one of the most successful underground hip-hop showcases in New York City, works the phones on Rap Is Outta Control with DJ Eclipse/DJ Premier on Sirius Radio, won the beat battle at The Massacre Of The Bay (M.O.B.) in Oakland May 8th and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Here’s what DJ Premier had to say about J57 and Brown Bag All Stars recently in an interview with Brooklyn Bodega…
“Audible Doctor and the cats that work up at Fat Beats — Brown Bag All Stars — they’re doing their thing. Shouts to J57, he’s dope. To hear a younger generation still keeping it raw like that lets you know that we can’t stop. I’m not going to let them take my spot and I like what they’re doing. I’m like “Ooh, that’s dope. Aight, let me go make a banger.” I’m influenced by wack shit and by dope shit. When dope shits coming, even more so I want to make ill joints because if I’m influenced by a joint that they made“

These guys have come a long way, are exceeding expectations daily and have lit a new fire of excitement in the hip-hop industry, especially the veterans. Look for their full-length debut album very soon.
‘The Agenda’, in case you didn’t check it out, has a remix version of itself produced by Marco Polo. That track has been spun by Premo on several occasions and is also in a video we posted from Marco Polo, Ruste Juxx and Brown Bag All Star’s show in June at The Dub Land Underground in Rochester, NY.
